Hosta - Cultivars K to Z

Please remember these are all pot grown, well established plants and will be supplied in pots ready to plant out, not bare root as many other suppliers send.

Hostas offer the gardener the most fabulous array of leaf shape, texture and form, as well as attractive and sometimes fragrant flowers. They thrive in moist humus rich soils.

New foliage emerges strongly in the spring and gently but majestically unfurls. Hosta are deciduous and as winter approaches the foliage takes on glowing yellow and orange autumnal hues. They are incredibly versatile and can be used in all sorts of gardens, Japanese, contemporary, classic, formal and informal. They combine beautifully with other shade tolerant plants such as ferns, Ophiopogon, Hackonechloa, Asiatic Primulas and Rodgersia. Hosta will also make great permanent container plants but do ensure they have enough water (particularly if they are in a sunnyish spot) and they will appreciate being planted in a loam based John Innes compost.
